my 25th Birthday

When I was in my teens, I had a big group of classmates celebrating for me. We went to ice skate and had macdonald back then and I carried back plastic bags n plastic bags of presents. When we grew older,  a different group celebrated with me and it was lovely as well. As I passed the age of 21 and going to a quarter of century, i realised that only my family has never failed to celebrate this day with me every single year. Everybody seemed to fade and leave somehow. Initially a few years go, I was so upset, because no others have wanted to spare a little time on this special occasion and I waited by the phone for any message that would say to help me celebrate my birthday till the end of each year. Not to mention surprises but nope, not a single soul. I started to think was it because I wasn't good enough as a friend? Maybe I am thats why on this day no friends have actually helped me celebrate. As years passed, I started to accept what it is. At least I should be thankful for what I have, be grateful for the things and people who stay. So at this quarter of century, I am equally happy that my family had always compromise to me to go eat my favourite food and my boyfriend make the effort to plan for my birthday and spend the whole day with me. I thank those people who wish me as well.

知足常乐

Happy Birthday to me :)

UPDATED: It's the time of the year

I thought december would be good but as the first half of the month passed, i felt so suffocated already. And I start to wonder, is this what I want? I hate to ask this question myself because I would have thousands and million doubt and questions in mind that made me insomnia. Is this really what life is about?

aside to this, it is a week to my favourite season and now i make a promise to myself - one fine year I am going to see a white Christmas. Yeap, Christmas overseas that is! Maybe next year hopefully? And of course that would also mean my birthday is coming. I have no plans or whatsoever. No wishlist for birthday present as well. Probably really getting used to it. Is this part of growing up?

ok maybe Im just tired after work and Im lazy to think. updating soon..... snoozing at 2344hours, goodnight peeps!

Its xmas eve today! thanks for all the xmas gift from all my colleagues and friends. truly appreciated. As I was thinking about my wishlist for xmas/ birthday, I realised i need to do a big shopping for my room. My niece and dajie is shifting to their new home end of the year and that means my room is back to me. It probably be very empty with a single bed and a mirror wardrobe. Was wondering how should I do up my room? any ideas people? Let me see, probably.......

a nice water bottle? My bottle has a very small opening that I can hardly put ice. Probably need one that can hold hot water too.

a nice maxi dress or maybe an outfit? LOL. Every year I always buy one outfit to wear on my bday. Maybe it will be nice if I receive one instead. Ombre is the in thing now?

DESSERT!! i think last year my wishlist was all food, seriously nth beats having nice dessert and food over this festive day and moreover for birthday.

ok shall update later, my mac is running low on batt already

我的少女時代

A remembrance of my times; the crazy things we did, the idols that we screamed over, the weird first crush that we had and the time that had passed. Although I may have some regrets - not to play more and have fun more, but I am glad that for all the things that happened has happen.

Over these months, I have stepped into Istana twice and seen those Parliament and ministers up close, helped out for a 2000 pax event which was crazy, almost everyday OT to finish work and handled some of the most ridiculous people ever. Still learning and still glad that many of all these happened to spice up my life. Of course, I do have many activities over these months too. Attended my cousin wedding in October and played with the photobooth tog with my cousins. Went to Halloween at USS because my fav ex manager gave me two tickets! :) Attended my sis Grad dinner at Home Team. Went to S.H.E concert which was awesome! Best Girl band i swear and my idol Hebe so pretty. Omg cannot maintain my fan mood. LOL And I just went USS with her today because she got two tickets and have not been there for rides before. Tomorrow I will be flying off to Taiwan :) November shall be a good month because December will be the best!

Halloween at USS

My sis grad dinner at Home Team Academy

today visit to USS

Mascot so cute with the pose!

Trying very hard to get the paranoma view with many me. Failed badly and also managed to get 2 pose. Others were all distorted.

Almost perfect shot! wonder izit the photographer or the person to be taken because I managed to help my sis take this.
Record breaking as my sis thinks it is no kick for her in USS because there is seriously nothing that caught her attention except for cylon and Human (which Human is closed) and Mummy ride. I have to admit the Cylon after maintenance and reopened was disappointing. I remembered last time it was really thrilling with the speed. Now it has slower down which I believe to be for safety precaution. What a waste. And after the mummy ride, we walked pass all the rides because my sis refuse to sit boring rides. So after 2 hours in USS (1.5 hours spent to queue for cylon), we were done in USS. Imagine we were in at 1030 and out at 1plus because we spent additional 1 hour trying the above shots. End up having lunch at vivo and went back to woodlands to sing k. Anyway, I need to be off to bed already because my flight is at noon. Gotta wake up early to the airport! wohoo, Braised Pork Rice here I come!!!

sometimes....

A very much needed rest over the weekend where I had a staycation with my family. I was so tired this week, being the fact that I OT almost everyday to finish work. The normal working hours is already long enough from 845 to 630. I always make it a must that I finish all my work on time so that I can leave on time as well if not a little spill over to 7pm is fine as well to have work life balance. Plus the fact that I stay in freaking woodlands and travelling kills alot of time. I was so tired, especially this week. Staying in the office at the time way pass 7pm is draining my mental and body. Yet, I know I wouldn't leave office if I have not finish; I wouldn't sleep well with unfinished work. It was a tiring week. Sometimes, I wonder am I too persistent over my principles and values? Sometimes, I feel Im very selfish. But this is the world im in. Sometimes, I feel sick of this world.....

Day 13 to 16 - Taipei

HELLO! I am here to finish my last post of the trip. LOL before I start my this year trip. Am most likely going back to Taiwan, again! I know you must be thinking I am crazy to be going back again n again. However, this time Im a tour guide to the bf! He hasnt go to taiwan  before and Im bringing him there! Anyway, here are links for my previous trip post:

Links for my Japan/Taiwan trip (For Japan trip, you can click from day 5):

So we are back in Taipei, we basically didnt have any plan in Taipei, just slp till whatever time that we like and decide when we are awake because we visited here for at least a couple of times already, visiting all those must-go places so Taipei is actually like another home country for us liao. Maybe those very local places we have not been, like those places that only local will know. Any locals who see this wanna intro me some special places?? More than welcome to hear from you really since I am going again probably in November. So Day 13, we went to Ding Tai Fung for our lunch. We went to the Xinyi store at Dongmen Station. Not sure about the flagship store but since my sis said it is then we shall head there!
You cant make reservation so only way is to come early to queue. Look at the people outside queuing!
Ok, I know abit kua zhang on the xiao cai. But I really love them alot! A must order dish whenever I dine at Ding Tai Fung. After which I think we went to Ji Long to visit their night market. The last time we came to Taipei we didnt really plan of that. Since we have more than enough time, why not.

Too early for the night market but we were hungry already after the travelling and walking

My sister saw this and wanted to try! sashimi for NT200 - 300~ HOW NOT TO RESIST?! quoted by my sister because I dont eat sashimi.
She say this is the most worth it and awesome sashimi. Very cheap and the quality is superb. Definitely not a cheapo sashimi. Go try it if you ever visit Ji Long.

I tried their crabmeat soup which was great as well! My sister bought abit of this and that to try too.
About time we finish the night market and heading back to hotel already.

The rest of the days, of course we visited wu fen pu for some shopping because I didnt do any serious shopping. Shilin night market and Shida night market as well. Went around shopping in Ximending too. And we caught a movie in Ximending too! because we really have too much time and didn't really want to shop already.
Cute soft toy that we chance upon in Shida!

SO THIS FINALLY END MY 2 WEEKS TRIP! WOHOO.

In Taiwan, I brought SGD1000 for taiwan currency exchange with about NT3000 from the last trip leftover. 10 days of Taiwan for SGD1000 inclusive of hotels and travel and expenses, I think it is pretty good planning so to speak. Total spending for the whole trip was SGD2800 for two weeks of Japan and Taiwan. Pretty cool right!

Next trip to Taiwan again, I shall take more n more photos to show you guys again!

Taiwan Day 12 - Butler Cafe & Taipei

Bid goodbye to the lovely nature cingjing early in the morning because it is a long journey back to taipei. Actually we plan to go to 六福村 but we decide to cancel the trip instead because first it is too rush and tiring, have to drag our luggage to the theme park and lock it there and definitely would have to spend a day to play before we head back to Taipei which would be super late at night. Secondly, one of the maid cafe staff introduce us to this butler cafe in taichung that we should go and visit so might as well have a relax Hi-Tea and head back Taipei than to rush our day. So we actually left our luggage at Taichung staion, they've got this luggage service whereby you pay an amount to keep your luggage at the station. It is by luggage size by the way, so i think ours were considered quite big so the fee wasn't that cheap thou. We did our research and also did a short chat with the staff on fb to understand how we should go. I remember we took a bus from the station and alight when we saw KFC. (sorry I couldn't recall the exact direction, regret not writing it down and blogging after so long), you can always check with the staff on fb or email them, they are quite friendly. The details of the butler cafe:
Michaelis執事喫茶(光大宅邸)
電話:(04)2201-5520
地址:台中市北區光大街26號
網址:butlers-cafe.tw (FB)

I think my sister book a very early time slot. Please go to their fb and check on the operation timing and such because I think there are certain days that they are closed.

There is minimum spending amount of NT150 per person I think.

The interior

small little cafe

As said, a butler cafe, they have different design of tea sets for us to choose from ( like a tai tai)

many nice design

books and their products as well

our european Hi tea. awesome much. I think this is about NT1400 I guess.

Very fulfilling and the staff are very friendly and interactive too. Lucky for us who cant really start a conversation with strangers, the manager of the cafe actually visited Singapore and know abit of it and of course they are very communicative. So the whole experience was really good plus the Hi Tea is really good as well. Too full to be true. And so it is about time to leave Taichung already because we bought our train ticket back to Taipei earlier. Resting time on the always comfy train!

Almost night time when we reach Taipei. We booked a hotel in Ximending for convenience sake. My sister found this hotel I guess. Abit of walking distance and away from the main ximending shopping area, probably a 10mins walk. But I guess it was pretty cheap that my sister booked it I guess. Think it was about $40 per person per night and we stayed for 4 nights. The hotel details:
大順大飯店 TS Hotel
No. 170-172, HanZhong St., Taipei, Taiwan
(near ChangSha St.)
Tel:886-2-2381-8710

HAHA! I was weighing my luggage, thinking what if it over-weight.

LOL! looks like a love motel.

Head down for our dinner because we were quite hungry by then

I still quite like this shop, not just because of the golden retriever but I like the food too. I couldn't really say it was top notch high class food either but it is like a comfy food for me.

As cute as always

not forgetting to visit this shop whenever we are here. My sister favourite shop but lucky this time she didn't buy anything, the last time here, she bought close to NT10,000 worth of things? Can you believe it. I think it was about there or definitely more than NT5000. 2 Shirts, a bag and a jacket. Crazy shit.

And we ended our day having a stroll around before crashing. Our trip is ending real soon too!
